Will Eisner Exhibit Highlights Month At Haddonfield Library

HADDONFIELD, NJ — There will be a speaker program on March 21, 7 p.m. at the Haddonfield Public Library in celebration of cartoonist and graphic novelist Will Eisner.
An exhibit of works by Eisner including actual examples of his art, will be on display for the entire month of March in the Research Room at the Haddonfield Public Library.
Illustration authority Richard Greene and researcher Joseph Getsinger will conduct a special presentation about "The Getsinger Find," a cache of over 8,500 zinc printing plates that survived the metal drives of WWII, and a new book revealing long-lost newspaper strips by Eisner.

The book, ”The Lost Work of Will Eisner,” was published by Philadelphia publisher Locust Moon in August. Copies of the book, signed by co-authors Getsinger and Greene will be available for purchase. To register to attend the March 21, lecture, call 856-429-1304, ext. 111 or 114.

On March 16, 7 p.m. in the Library Classroom, Haddonfield Public Library is pleased to present “Mark Twain Returns…and Not a Minute Too Soon!” As witness to some of the most tumultuous times in American history Twain returns to attest to the resilience and fortitude of the American people. The nation has survived 37 Presidents and 90 iterations of Congress since Twain's birth in 1835. Join Mark Twain (played by Rick Bonnette) for an unstinting look at America's past and future. On March 29, 7 p.m. in the Library Classroom, emerging technology librarian Cathy DeCampli will teach an introductory workshop for the 3D printer. Participants will get an introduction to 3D modeling using Tinkercad software. Participants can bring own laptops or use one of six available Library macbooks.
