Woman Killed, 3 Hurt In South Jersey Crash: Police
3 other people were brought to the hospital with 'moderate' injuries, authorities said.
FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ — A woman died and three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Thursday in Cumberland County, authorities said.
State troopers responded at 4:23 p.m. to the collision at Route 49 and Route 675 in Fairfield Township. A passenger in one of the vehicles — Delia Lugo, 69, of Mullica Hill — sustained fatal injuries, according to State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.
Based on the preliminary investigation, a Jeep Wrangler was traveling northbound on Route 675, approaching the intersection of Route 49, police said. The Jeep had three occupants, including Lugo.

Meanwhile, a Nissan Altima with one occupant was moving westbound on Route 49. A Nissan Rogue with three people had been traveling southbound on Route 675 and had stopped at the intersection, Lebron said.
The Jeep failed to stop at the intersection and entered Route 49, colliding with the Altima, continuing to push through the intersection and hitting the Rogue, according to law enforcement.

Lugo, a rear-seat passenger in the Jeep, was ejected and sustained fatal injuries, police said. The Altima driver, Jeep driver and the Jeep's front-seat passenger were brought to the hospital with "moderate" injuries, according to Lebron.
The accident remains under investigation, and police had no additional information available.
