YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties Offers "Safe Places to Play" for Camden City Youth

Community Initiative 'takes back Camden parks'

This summer, Camden City youth will have the opportunity to participate in fun activities at six parks throughout the City thanks to the YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties’ “Safe Places to Play” initiative.

From June 26 through August 28 from 1 to 6 p.m. - the Y’s trained and qualified staff will be onsite daily at six parks throughout the City of Camden working with youth on fun, organized physical activities and sports, including sports drills, structured play time, recreational activities and much more. Children will enjoy free healthy snacks plus the initiative is also free to Camden residents.

Safe Places to Play is made possible due to collaborative partnerships and funding, including: Mayor Dana L. Redd and the City of Camden along with St. Joseph’s Carpenter Society, Wells Fargo Regional Foundation, JAWS Youth Playbook, Camden Lutheran Housing and the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey in Camden County.
