Medical epicondylitis, otherwise known as tennis and golfer’s elbow, is caused by overuse of the muscles of the forearm. This causes little tears in the tendons and will cause irritation and pain where the tendon is attached to the bone. While athletes aren’t the only ones at risk for this condition, golfers and tennis players are those most commonly diagnosed due to their repetitive motions.
To learn more about this condition and ways to avoid the overuse of muscles in the forearm, join the YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties in partnership with Strive Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation, for a free seminar on Tennis & Golfer’s Elbow on Thursday, June 19 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Mt. Laurel YMCA, located at 59 Centerton Road.
Attendees will learn how to identify problematic elbow pain, discuss various preventative strategies and effective treatment technique and receive instruction in improving a golf or tennis swing with simple adjustments.
