Young Haddonfield actresses featured in "Annie"

Leapin’ Lizards! Young talent from the Haddonfield region will be featured in the Walnut Street Theatre’s production of the Tony-Award winning musical ANNIE, playing now through January 7.

Mia James Bompensa, an actress from Haddonfield, makes her Walnut debut in the children’s ensemble in all weekend performances of the musical.

Outside of the theatre, Bompensa attends the Untied Martial Arts Academy and is currently in training for her second degree black belt. She has also been featured three times in the New Jersey Reflections program for her art and writing. She has a one-eyed pug, Wally, which she rescued a few years ago.

Bompensa will be joined by Voorhees resident Alanna Stein who will be playing the orphan Tessie in all weekend performances of the musical. Annie marks her third Walnut production after playing a Munchkin in last year’s production of Wizard of Oz and performing in the ensemble of A Christmas Story (2015).

Bompensa and Stein are members of the Theatre School at Walnut Street Theatre, along with all 24 of their orphan cast-mates.
