2 Bergen County Quick-Response SWAT Units To Debut Wednesday

The new units will operate under the Bergen County Regional SWAT team.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Two new quick-response patrol units designed to quickly respond to critical incidents will begin operating in Bergen County Wednesday, authorities announced.

The new initiative are a part of the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team. The units will allow "specially equipped" officers to more quickly respond to critical incidents throughout the county.

Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir Grewal, Sheriff Michael Saudino and Chief Edward Kasper, president of the Bergen County Police Chiefs Association will discuss the new units Wednesday morning at the prosecutor's office in Paramus.

The units will use new vehicles, which will be on display Wednesday morning.
