• Hasbrouck Heights Answers The Call To Remember (patch.com) — Hasbrouck Heights residents are invited to a September 11 memorial service on Friday, Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. at Firemen's Memorial/September 11 Memorial Park on the Boulevard. Seniors can take a shuttle from the Borough Hall Senior Center at 8:45 a.m., and the ceremony will move indoors to the Senior Center if it rains.
   

• Video Catches Grown Man Swiping Money Jar From Kids' Lemonade Stand (mandatory.com) — Hasbrouck Heights police quickly arrested a man accused of stealing $50 from a kids' lemonade stand near Boulevard and Raymond Street after witnesses and surveillance video helped track him to a nearby park. Officers recovered the proceeds for the boys, and the suspect, who also had an outstanding warrant, now faces theft and related charges.
   

• NJIC Football Defensive Players of the Week, Aug. 27-29 (nj.com subscription) — Hasbrouck Heights football gets a shout-out in this roundup of NJIC defensive standouts, including a strong performance by New Milford's Kyle Dunne in a 21-14 win over the Aviators. A Wood-Ridge linebacker is also pictured making a big stop at Hasbrouck Heights High School, underscoring the local rivalry's intensity.
