Saint Dominic Academy holds National Honor Society Induction

            Seventeen Saint Dominic Academy students were recently inducted into the Siena Chapter of the National Honor Society.  NHS officers President Naiya Patel, from North Bergen, Vice President Jeselle Padilla, of Jersey City, Secretary Kathryn Zubicki, of Kearny, and Treasurer Sarah Sisk from Bayonne presided over the Induction ceremony which was held at the Academy on April 24, 2012.

            Ms. Patricia Criaris, a 1972 graduate of the Academy and also the NHS Advisor, introduced the new inductees following the Invocation, Salute to the Flag and an address by SDA principal, Mr. Thomas Corbo. The entire National Honor Society membership recited the NHS Pledge after each inductee received her NHS pin. Saint Dominic Academy Head of School, Mrs. Barbara Griffin, made the closing remarks.

            The newly inducted members include juniors Andrea Marie Cadenilla, Madeleine Farley, Marylin Gomes, Miranda Revilla, Elle Rose, Dania Santer and Isabel Tamayo all of Jersey City, as well as Joyce DeLeon of New York City and Tara Descalzi of Secaucus.  Sophomore inductees included Jersey City residents Roxanne Casio, Enakshi Das, Nikita Pandya and Victoria Rediger.  Other sophomores inducted were Briana Encarnacion of Bayonne, Cara Keating of Weehawken, Genesis Sanchez of Belleville and Marta Suazo of Union City.
