For Gamez one of the best wins came in the 110 hurdles where he defeated rival, Sean Porteus of Wood-Ridge, 15.10 to 15.30. "We are friends off the track, but we are rivals on the track," said Gamez about defeating Porteus. "We pushed each other in the race."
Both are expected to be battling again for first in the event this weekend at the Bergen County Group Meet in Old Tappan.
In addition four other Aviators doubled up on first place finishes: Anthony Seidel (javelin and discus); Brandon Lomuti (100 and 200 meter dash); Irene Cedano (discus and the shot put) and Alex Sisco (800 meter run and pole vault).
