BOE Candidates Night Set for Monday

Next Monday night the six candidates running for will have an opportunity to present their views on why they are running for the board as well as their views on the most important issues affecting the district.

The will present the candidate’s night event Monday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

Running for the three 3-year terms available on the board are Debra Bruno, Lisa Hodulik (incumbent), Robert Salerno and Joe Sampieri.  Joann Garifalos, an incumbent and Lillian Romano, are running for one 2-year term.

Jack DeLorenzo and Richard Parodi current board members decided not to seek re-election this year. Both have served three terms. At the recent Board of Education meeting Richard Giarratana, president, thanked both DeLorenzo and Parodi for their many years of service and dedication.

Each candidate will be introduced in alphabetical order and will be allowed to present his or her reasons for running, ideas and a brief bio within a three-to-five  minute time frame. 

The public will be allowed to ask questions to one or all candidates. Questions will be limited to two minutes or less and questions will be limited to one per questioner. Candidates will be given time for closing statements.
