Back to the Past And Into The Present.
The boulvard has changed over the years, evident of the changing times.
You know you’re getting old when you see the changes your home town has gone through. I remember going to Fisher’s for lunch and Dieckman’s for ice cream. Then there was the Heights Sweet Shop.
Happily, I can still go to Fisher’s and have both lunch and ice cream! There was Carroll’s for the women and a great men’s clothing store for the men. There was also a five and dime store.
Back in the day there used to be two bakeries in town. Pfanders and Spindlers. They were across street from each other, but somehow they both thrived.

As a teenager, I loved going in to Spindlers. I sometimes think that any bakery that came after Spindlers was pushed out by the “Ghost of Spindlers Past."
None of them stayed very long and now that the Spindlers are back, I’m back to visiting their shop once again. I just love their chocolate chip cookies.
Who says you can’t go home again?
