Heroes

Today kids love superheroes like "Batman," "Buzz Lightyear" and "Spiderman." Watching
my great nephew play with his Batman and Spiderman toys, I can vouch for this.

My great niece, however, is totally enthralled with "Dora The Explorer." I can
understand why since they both have big brown eyes and black hair.

What about that Sponge? You know the one I’m talking about. That big yellow one. I
mean a sponge that wears brown pants with suspenders, but who am I to talk?

One of my heroes growing up was Howdy Doody, a wooden puppet and a clown named
Clarabelle. What was I thinking?

I guess things haven’t changed that much after all.
