Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors is about Planning and Resources!
Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors is about intelligent planning, research, and sharing.
Meetings from 1 until 2:30 p.m. Mondays in the Hasbrouck Heights Library. Join us. No prior membership or sign up required.
Bad enough dealing with unemployment or underemployment, try keeping your sanity at the same time.
If you go at this all alone, with absolutely no help of assistance whatsoever, you are as good as sunk, or at the very least, you will find that job, that goal, much, much later than you expected. Worse, you could end up just settling on something below your skill level and below you interest level!

You do NOT want to do that! At least, if you can afford not to. Sure, there are bills to pay, mouths to feed, and cars run on gasoline not good intentions. No matter what, the experts on getting out of this mess, as well as those who are in the trenches are all saying, it is best to research and to plan before going out on the
Great Adventure.
Planning is not easy when you have no idea where to start. Even then, there are many false starts, stumbling, and pot holes one can get stuck in. Here are some steps to get over them and continue on your way.

Stay Positive.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. It is absolutely imperative that you
stay positive through this tough time. With the depression apathy will follow.
The unhealthy side of the brain, and we all have this creature in us, will be
fueled by the negativity and we will do nothing!
This will do no good!
Remember what good you have done! Remember you are not alone. Remember there is hope as long as you keep moving, do something! Like continuing to….
Network.

to us, Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors in New Jersey. Not to be confused with the
one in Brooklyn.
We are one place to network, to meet others in your situation. But this is not just an airy little get together where we all complain! No! Action is taken! For without action there can be no progress!
Hasbrouck Heights Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors meets every Monday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Hasbrouck Heights Library! Actually, we meet right across from the Library.
Come and visit, stay, and join!
Take Notes.
As you search, bring a notepad, a paper one. Not one of those fancy electrical ones that are all the craze these days. Use erasable pens, my personal favorite.
With the ears open wide, listen and grab what info and contact info you can.
Get the guts of other people’s stories, grab their ideas, grab their tactics, their
success stories and keep that book safe! Use what you learn as the basis for
your own plan.
Research.
Oh Internet.
You are so full of stuff. Most of it we could not consume, digest and utilize
if we had three or four life times. The problem is there’s a bit of junk out
there which can cause digestive problems. You know the kind, the kind that
makes you worry because you feel hopeless, because you feel inadequate and as
if you have screwed up.
Or the places that lead you to part with sums of hard earned, badly needed money. Times like this,
scammers and bad ideas are zipping around like hungry vultures in the sky
above. Let’s not give those ugly birds their next meal!
