Car Fire Closes Off Williams Avenue

Fire chief says no one was injured

A car fire briefly shut down part of Williams Avenue mid-Monday afternoon as fire fighters attended to the scene.

Heights Volunteer Fire Chief Richard Giarratana said the engine of a white Audi vehicle had caught fire while driving down Willliams Avenue. The driver pulled over and called the fire department immediately. The driver was not hurt, he said.

The damage from the fire was quite visible as the entire front end of the vehicle was charred. The faint scent of smoke could still be detected in the area of Williams Avenue as the vehicle was being lifted on to a tow truck.
