Council Cheers on Champions

One by one the members of the Hasbrouck Heights Recreation Travel Eighth Grade Girls basektball team walked up to the front of the council chamber to receive her certificate from the mayor and council Tuesday night.

The team was the first to bring home this championship for the recreation department. Coach Ken Partyka told the girls it was "a hard fought year and they really stepped it up out there and did outstanding."

The honored teammates are: Diljeet Kaur, Stephanie Dallara, Megan O'Leary, Alyssa Verpi, Sami Partyka, Jillian DiGiacinto, Stacey Porzi, Jilians Sears, Mary Watkins and Alyssa Bevacqua. In addition to Coach Partyka, coaches Al DeAngelo, Steve Porzi and Gene Dallara were also recognized.
