Crossing Guard OK After Being Grazed by Vehicle, Small Brush Fire on Roosevelt

A crossing guard required medical attention at his post Friday morning when a passing vehicle grazed his arm, confirmed.
Officer Ian Robertson of the traffic bureau said the crossing guard, who serves the post at Washington and the Boulevard, is fine and continued on with his post after EMS came to the scene to check on him.
Robertson said a vehicle was making a right from Washington and the side mirror grazed the crossing guard’s arm. The driver claimed to have not seen the crossing guard while making the turn, according to police. The driver was given a summons, Robertson said.

Also early Friday morning, police and members were called to the scene of a small brush fire on Roosevelt Avenue. According to the police report a discarded Christmas tree on the curbside for collection was on fire and distinguished by the fire department.
