Cause of Fire in 2-Story Home Still Under Investigation

Officials say fire in Division Avenue residence did not cause any structural damage.

Fire department chiefs and the borough’s fire official are investigating the cause of a small fire to the exterior rear wall of a two-story house on Division Avenue Monday morning.

Fire Chief Richard Giarratana of the borough's said there were no obvious signs as to what caused the fire which began shortly after 8 a.m. this morning to 38 Division Avenue.

The fire didn’t cause any structural damage and never really got inside the house. It was put out in about 13 minutes, said the fire chief.

Someone was home at the time of the fire, smelled smoke and called it in said Giarratana who added that he was glad someone was home to report it as the couldn’t have made the fire much worse.

The borough’s Fire Official Arte Jackson was brought in to investigate the cause of the fire.
