Former Nets Player Arrested After Allegedly Fighting With Cops: Report Says

William "Bill" Willoughby, 58, went from Dwight Morrow High School straight to the NBA.

William "Bill" Willoughby, 58, who was the youngest player in the NBA at one time, was arrested after he allegedly fought with two Hackensack police officers Wednesday night, authorities said.

City police received a phone call at about 7:30 p.m. about a suspicious person on Clinton Place and found Willoughby on Clinton Place, The Record reported. He was nervous and when he tried to run away, officers struggled with him.

He was arrested and found with marijuana in his possession, police said in the report. He posted bail.

Willoughly was charged with possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault on a police officer, police said.

The officers were treated for shoulder and back injuries at the hospital.
