Hasbrouck Heights Flexes $100,000 Woodland Park Upgrade

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ — A workout at Woodland Park could soon become more accessible for residents of all abilities.

Bergen County awarded Hasbrouck Heights $100,000 to purchase and install exercise equipment, including ADA-accessible features, near the park pavilion. For Hasbrouck Heights residents, the project could mean more ways to exercise outdoors without leaving the borough.

The grant requires a dollar-for-dollar municipal match, bringing the investment to at least $200,000. County officials presented the funding Monday through the Open Space Trust Fund’s Municipal Park Improvement Program.

“This funding will help us make Woodland Park even more welcoming and useful for our residents,” Mayor Ron Kistner said.

County Executive Jim Tedesco said the program supports park improvements that enhance residents’ quality of life. A construction timeline and complete equipment list have not yet been announced by the borough.
