Heights Based Rock Bands to Perform at Best of Bergen Bandfest
The debut county event will take place August 18 in Overpeck County Park
Two Hasbrouck Heights based rock bands and will perform during the debut of the Best of Bergen Bandfest set for Thursday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. at the amphitheater in Overpeck County Park.
Doomsday Diaries features founding members Jason and Sean Sproviero of Hasbrouck Heights along with singer Jessica Kenny of nearby Garfield, Adam Sarkisian of Paramus, Reed Silverstein of Northvale and Owen McCloskey of Closter. All the members range in age from 13 to 15 years old. Although they are young the bandmates say they may be young musicians but they cater to a more mature audience have been influenced by classic rock bands like the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix, the members told Patch back in May.
Retro Spectro features Ray Hohnecker on guitar and vocals, Nick Bowman on bass and vocals, Mike Messeri on drums and Garret Van Curen on lead vocals, all who hail from Hasbrouck Heights. The foursome has been playing together since they were all students at Chip Dee Music Academy in Heights. Now the four all attend separate colleges and get together to jam and perform during their summer break, the band members told Patch back in May.

Both bands performed during the Hasbrouck Heights street fair this past May. Retro Spectro also recently performed at the borough's Relay for Life event and Independence Day fireworks event.
Other bands on the bill include Jamface, Tenacious T, Starless and Poetic Propaganda all whose members hail from area towns such as Rochelle Park, Lodi, Northvale, Closter, Bergenfield and Bogota.
