Heights Shows Love for the Giants

Residents and businesses get ready for the Super Bowl

Anticipation of the big game Sunday has become viral all over town as football fans, and Giants fans in particular, and local businesses are getting themselves ready for Super Bowl XLVI.

A number of store fronts are all decked out in honor of the Giants like the Mancave Salon on the corner of Jefferson and the Boulevard. Step inside and right there in the display case are several tributes to the Giants with their red and blue cookies, a variation of the black and white cookie, helmet cakes featuring the Giants symbol and a giant stadium cake.

Walk into and there is owner Tom Meli sporting his Giants cap while the NFL station plays on the big screen TV in the center of the shop. Several eateries in town are offering Super Bowl Sunday catering specials like and .

Lovey’s owner Corrine Seidel says “It’s Giants country in here” adding that the restaurant is getting ready to celebrate Sunday. A flat screen TV featured in the main dining room will of course have the game on Sunday and they will feature specials and sports related trivia throughout the day

Football fans will be celebrating all day at which will feature many food and drink specials throughout the day. Orders for wing specials can also be placed by Saturday for those who will be watching the game at home or going to a party.

Super Bowl partying will also be happening down at the . Admission is $5 and food will be served at 7 p.m. Drink specials will be featured as well.

One of the first things you see when you walk into is a cluster of shiny Giants balloons. The shop will be giving away free Giants team color carnations all day Saturday and Sunday while supplies last.

Brand new sub shop Subworks on the corner of Washington Place and Terrace will be open this Sunday for the Super Bowl.
