SAT Prep Course Presentation set for Wednesday

Joe DeQuinzio, a recent Hasbrouck Heights High School graduate who currently is a rising sophomore at Princeton University, has been selected as an instructor for Ivy Insiders an innovative new SAT prep program founded and run by Ivy League undergraduates.

DeQuinzio, who  is a test prep instructor and tutor with Revolution Ivy, will make a presentation to parents and students during the PTSA Meeting set for Wednesday, June 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school media center. He will discuss the importance of SAT scores and why they should matter to students. DeQuinzio will also explain the prep class that he plans to teach at Hasbrouck Heights High School this summer.

DeQuinzio emphasized how important it is for juniors and sophomores to prepare for the SATs now and  invites all interested students and parents to come to the presentation Wednesday.

“The summer is a great opportunity for serious students to make critical improvements in their test-taking ability,” he said.

DeQuinzio who graduated HHHS in 2010 said, “I see this opportunity as a way to share my recent experiences with the students at Heights and I hope that I can help motivate all of you to shoot for the highest scores possible.”

He explained that the SAT test can be intimidating but a prepared student should have no fears. He cited the three key factors of the prep program which are: a proven curriculum, a  young, enthusiastic teaching staff and a personalized approach that targets each student’s needs and problem areas.

“Ivy Insiders’ strategies and approaches give students the confidence they need to effectively tackle each type of problem on the test, and raise their scores as a result. Over the last four years, Ivy Insiders has helped more than 4,000 students achieve average SAT score improvements of 254 points. Ivy Insiders’ mission is to harness the insights of real students who succeeded in the standardized testing process to help current high school students do the same,” DeQuinzio stated.

According to his Revolution Prep bio, DeQuinzio had exceptional SAT scores and graduated fourth in his class. He is majoring in politics and is a Division 1 wrestler at Princeton. He was a member of the National Honor Society at Hasbrouck Heights High and was on the wrestling and track teams.
