Installation of New Boiler at Euclid School Almost Complete

Purchase was possible due to PSE&G Green Solution Program

Installation of the new boilers at is currently in process, school officials confirmed.

Over last week’s winter break, the first boiler was installed and this week the second one is being put in, Dina Messery, school district business administrator explained.

The PSE&G Green Solution Program made it possible for the district to purchase the boiler system. PSE&G is paying the amount of $189,500 – which equals 80 percent of the total – leaving the school district responsible for the remaining 20 percent in the amount of $47,375.

This amount is not due upfront and will be paid back over the next two years through the district’s monthly bill. The cost comes out to about $1,900 a month, Messery reported previously.

Previously the district asked taxpayers via referendum if they would approve the purchase of boilers for both Euclid and Lincoln school to which they said voted down. Since then Lincoln School's boiler had to be replaced as it broke down completely and now the PSE&G program made the Euclid School boiler replacement possible.
