
A Jersey City man driving on his birthday Monday was intoxicated at nearly triple the legal limit and had two children in his car, Hasbrouck Heights Police told NJ.com.
Israel Perez, 53, was swerving in and out of his lane just before 4 p.m., according to a report on NJ.com, when he was pulled over by police. Perez was driving with a woman and two children—one was his child, the other was the woman’s, according to the report posted on Wednesday.
Perez failed field sobriety tests and was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, DWI with minors present, careless driving and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, authorities told NJ.com.

Perez's blood alcohol level was at .23—nearly triple the legal limit of .08—according to police.
