Fifth grade class performs concert themed on character education
What does it mean to be a child of the world?
The fifth grade students at have the answer and they shared it with the rest of the student body Tuesday afternoon as they sang and did mini-skits to demonstrate during a special performance that highlighted five character education traits that every child should know–courage, compassion, respect, responsibility and honesty.
Music teacher Sandra Cerasuolo led the fifth graders, as they sang songs with the theme of the program such as “I’m a lion” to show their courage.

“Stand up, stand up, stand up for honesty. Be the best that you can be, stand up for honesty” they sang.
Before each song, another student rose to the microphone and asked the question, "What does it mean to be a child of the world." which was followed by a group of two to three students who acted out a mini-skit to demonstrate one of the character education traits.
