Owner Of Bergen County Bus Company Admits To Tax Evasion

Adel Saadalla, 52, was the owner of K&T Express. He admitted taking money from the business and putting into his personal bank account.

A Bergen County man pleaded guilty to income tax evasion in Trenton federal court Thursday.

Adel Saadalla, 52, of Cliffside Park, admitted that for the 2010 through 2013 tax years he failed to report money earned from the charter bus business he owned, K&T Express, as income, said Jonathan Larsen, special agent in charge of IRS criminal investigations in the service's Newark field office.

Saadalla admitted depositing the money into his personal bank account and did not report the money as income on his and the business' tax returns. Larsen said.

By not reporting the income, Saadalla bilked the government out of nearly $493,000.

Saadalla faces a maximum prison sentence of five years and a $250,000 fine when he is sentenced March 22.
