School Facilities Are Ready for Back to School

Euclid School flooding problem has been resolved; various other maintenance projects completed

School officials report that all facility improvements have been completed and the buildings are ready for the new school year, which begins in less than two weeks.

trustee Joseph Rinke reported Thursday night that the Euclid School flooding problem has been rectified. Work was completed earlier this month and there have been no signs of any flooding even with all the excessive rain the area has had in the past two weeks.  

Dr. Mark Porto, superintendent, added that it was especially a good thing that the problem was resolved before the impending hurricane which is expected to hit the area this weekend.

Changes were visible right in the high school media center where the Board of Education meeting was held. Brand new linoleum flooring was put in this month in place of carpeting.

The painting of the gym has been completed, Rinke reported. During the July Board of Education meeting Dina Messery, business administrator, explained that the gym would  The painting of many of the middle school and high school classroom was also completed on schedule, Rinke said.

Other changes at the middle school and high school include the installation of an  additional food station in the cafeteria which will help the food lines run smoother for the students, Rinke said.
