Three 3-year terms and one 2-year term are up for re-election; two incumbents face challengers

Five candidates are vying for three 3-year terms available on the board of education and two are vying for one 2-year term in the 2011 school board election.

The deadline to file for candidacy was 4 p.m. Tuesday. Out of three current board members whose three-year terms are up only Lisa Hodulik is seeking re-election. Both Richard Parodi and Jack DeLorenzo have decided not to seek re-election.

DeLorenzo is coming to the end of his third term and after nine years has decided it’s time to give someone else a chance.
