Soccer Champs Honored by the Borough [VIDEO]

Four championship soccer teams of the Hasbrouck Heights Soccer Association received awards from the mayor and council Tuesday night for their achievements in 2011.

Parents and family members crowded the council chambers to watch their sons or daughters proudly dressed in their black and orange championship jackets receive their certificates from the mayor and council and the champs heard words of recognition from their coaches. 

The first team to receive their certificates was the Division 5 champions which is sponsored by Challenge Training and Consulting.

Team members are: Killian Turner, T.K. Kasper, Gabrielle Boocia, Dylan Van Ryn, Emily Perri, John Van Dam, Kassandra Pinto, Peter Garifalos, Nicholas Valle, Nicholas Bua, Natalie Pinto, Danielle Pinto and Matthew Bruno. 

Next came the South Bergen Soccer League U12 Boys Champions sponsored by Heights Bar and Grill.

Team members are: Jeremy Bailey, Zachary Bailey, Nicholas Cali, Filip Checko, Tyler DeMicco, Shalom Dukhande, Jonathan Durham, Antonio Greco, Zachary Hauptman, Ronnye Hurtado, Jay Kapossy, Scott Ketsche, Marc Pagan, Anthony Palmer, Darin Porto, Leandro Pozo, Lucas Rexford and Aarav Superkar. One of their coaches commented that the team played great this season going into the playoffs as a fourth seed and beating out the first seeded team and then the second seeded team for the championship.

The South Bergen Soccer League U12 Girls champions, sponsored by Bill O’Shea’s Florist, were honored next. Team members are: Dana Bincoletto, Kate Bothe, Tori Buckman, Catherine Castellanos, Jacqueline DeLorenzo, Alyssa Demone, Janeth Fermin, Isabella Foley, Sophia Hein, Kelly Innis, Madeline Kalmowitz, Olivia Licini, Olivia Marinelli, Erin Murphy, Julia Murphy, Helen Nigro, Chelsea Peralta, Natalie Stefanelli, Courtney Summers, Sheridan Wheeler and Brianna Wynne.

Last but not least the South Bergen Soccer League U14 girls champs, sponsored by Hasbrouck Heights Pizza, were honored. Team members are: Sarah Bailey, Hannah Christensen, Brianna Coletti, Amanda DeJulia, Jessica Gaffney, Jessica Gasparino, Daliah Jawabrah, Kayla Lisa, Sydni Masiello, Micah Nollara, Kate Palmieri, Erin Scannell, Destinee Silva, Victoria Vizzacchero, Rachel Weber, Melanie Wexler and Jacquelyn Zarrillo.
