Tentative '12-'13 School Budget Shows Tax Levy Increase of Nearly 4 Percent
Details on the proposed school budget will be presented to the public March 28.

The approved a tentative proposed budget for the 2012-2013 school year Thursday night which shows a tax levy increase of nearly 4 percent over last year.
Seven of the nine Board of Education trustees convened Thursday night to approve the tentative budget, a first step in the budget presentation process.
The proposed budget in the amount of $27,357,971 has a tax levy of $24,770,960, an increase of nearly 4 percent

No details regarding the proposed budget were presented Thursday night. Taxpayers will have the opportunity to learn what the Board of Education proposes with this budget at the Tuesday, March 28 public hearing.
Since the Board of Education voted in January , the public vote on proposed budgets that come within the 2 percent cap has been eliminated. Voters will not go to the polls to decide on this budget in April.
