Strong Man Competition Will Benefit Needy Children This Holiday Season
Athletic Overdrive hosts its second strong man competition benefit

In just 10 days area strong men can use that strength to help make a difference in the life of a child this holiday season.
Once again , right down the Boulevard in Wood-Ridge , is hosting its second Strong Man Competition, which proceeds benefiting a charity to help children in need this holiday season.
The Strong Man Competition includes four events – sled pull, prowler push, water jug row and yoke walk. First prize is two free sessions and a trophy, second prize is one free session and a trophy and the third prize winner will receive a trophy.

The event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10. There will be two competitions, the first begins with check-in at 9 a.m. for those 18 and over. The event beings at 10 a.m. Entry fee is $40 per person pre-registered and $50 for walk-ins.
For competitors ages 15 to 17 years old the event begins with a 1 p.m. check-in and the event begins at 2 p.m. Cost is $25 per person pre-registered and $30 for walk-ins.

The athletic facility is also collecting toys to benefit Treasures in Heaven Toy Drive benefiting children in need, in foster care (DYS) and an outreach group in Newark called Operation Turnaround. The drive ends Dec. 14. They are collecting gift wrapped toys labeled with age and gender info. Toys for boys ages 1 to 4 are especially needed but all gifts are much appreciated.
