Students in the fourth grade at Lincoln Elementary School got to bring their science projects to life Wednesday afternoon as their parents, teachers and administrators gathered outside the school to watch them "erupt" their model volcanoes.
Fourth grade teacher Samantha Brander said the students each had to research a volcano, write a report on it and then make a replica of it. Students were not allowed to use kits and were encouraged to use their own creativity.
Most of the volcano models were made using paper mache and many of the students used natural ingredients like vinegar and baking soda to simulate the eruption effect.
