Young Wrestling Champs Reach State Level

Three young wresters on the borough’s Recreation team made it all the way to the state championship this year.

On Tuesday night, Sean OMalley, Mickey O’Malley and Jason Dal Cortivo were joined by their family members and coaches when the mayor and council recognized them for their accomplishments.

“Making it to the state level is very tough. It takes a lot of commitment, a lot of practice,” commented Councilwoman Sonya Buckman, commissioner of recreation. “To make it to this level is phenomenal,” she added. Buckman also said she hopes to see the athletes on the high school wrestling team one day.
