Details Revealed On Thursday's Easton Avenue Fatal Crash

A Clinton woman was pronounced dead at the scene, 2 others were hospitalized including a Bridgewater woman with life-threatening injuries.

FRANKLIN, NJ — One woman is dead and two others were hospitalized following a serious crash on Easton Avenue on Thursday afternoon.

Multiple 911 calls reported the two-car crash at 1:54 p.m. on Easton Avenue in the area of Culver Street.

An investigation found that a 2005 Dodge Ram Pick-up driven by Jhonny Herrera, 40, of North Brunswick, was driving southbound on Easton Avenue when it struck a 1999 Lexus RX300 that was entering the intersection of Easton Avenue from Culver Street, according to Franklin Township Police.

The Lexus was driven by a 59-year-old woman from Clinton, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, a 60-year-old woman from Bridgewater, was transported to a local area trauma center with serious, possibly life-threatening injuries, police report.

Herrera was also transported to a local area trauma center with apparent non-life threatening injuries.

Easton Avenue was closed for about 4 and a half hours during the investigation.
