1 House Explodes, 1 Still On Fire In 8 Feet Of Water In Somerset County: Videos

VIDEOS and PHOTOS: Another house also exploded on Wednesday night in Somerville.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — A house has exploded in Manville and another remains on fire with first responders unable to get to them due to 8 feet high waters.

The explosion was reported at a home on Boesel Avenue on Thursday around 4 p.m. surrounded by flood waters from Hurricane Ida.

Another home on N 2nd Avenue is also on fire but it is surrounded by 8 feet of water preventing firefighters from getting to it.

On Wednesday night another house exploded on Mercer Street in Somerville.

Both of the explosions are believed to have been caused by gas leaks because of floodwaters, said Somerset County Prosecutor Spokesman Frank Roman.

No deaths have been reported at this time in connection with the explosions, said Roman.
