2 Charged With DWI Following Crashes In Hillsborough

Hillsborough Police reported arresting nine people on charges including driving while intoxicated, drug possession, shoplifting and more.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Police reported arresting nine people on charges including driving while intoxicated, drug possession, shoplifting and more.

On July 7: Michael Piorkowski, 38, of Manville was arrested for driving while intoxicated as a result of a motor vehicle crash on Hamilton Road. He was also issued a summons for failure to maintain lane and was released pending a court appearance.

On July 19: Chase Ballah, 56, of Hillsborough, was charged with driving while intoxicated after being involved in a motor vehicle crash on Amwell Road. He was also issued summonses for careless driving, failure to exhibit license, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, and use of cell phone while driving.

On Aug. 7: An 18-year-old man from Hillsborough, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana after being stopped by police in Mountainview Park. He was also issued a summons for controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. He was processed and released with a court date.

On Aug. 10: An 18-year-old man from Hillsborough, was arrested for possession of marijuana after being stopped by police on Rt 206. He was also issued summonses for maintenance of lamps and controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.

On Aug. 15: A 19-year-old man from Roselle, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana after the vehicle he was in was stopped by police on Amwell Road. He was processed and released with a court date.

On Aug. 15: A 19-year-old man from Hillsborough, was charged with possession of marijuana after he was stopped by police on Rt 206. He was also issued a summons for maintenance of lamps and released with a court date.

On Aug. 21: A 22-year-old man from Hillsborough, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Farm Road. He was also issued summonses for maintenance of lamps, improper display of plate, and controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. He was released with a court date.

On Aug. 23: Kanika Williams, 41, of Hillsborough was arrested for shoplifting for removing merchandise from Weis Markets without payment. She was also charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and simple assault. She was released with a future court date.

On Aug. 30: Mark Hedges, 41, of Hillsborough, was charged with availability of alcoholic beverages to underaged after police responded to a complaint of underaged consumption of alcohol. He was issued a summons at the scene and given a court date.
