2 Hillsborough Teens Honored As Somerset County Scholar Athletes Of The Year
Lauren Barker and Arnav Jain were both honored by the Hillsborough Township Committee with proclamations.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Two Hillsborough High School Seniors were honored by the township with a proclamation recognizing them for achieving the title of Somerset County Scholar Athlete.
The Hillsborough Township Committee presented the proclamations to Lauren Barker and Arnav Jain at the June 13 meeting.
Barker has been running since seventh grade and participates in Hillsborough High School Cross Country, Winter Track and Spring Track.

She is a 12-time varsity letter winner and fourth in the state in the four by eight hundred race while her favorite event is the 800-meter race.
Barker is a straight-A student and a member of the French Honors Society. She has been accepted to The College of New Jersey for Engineering with a partial scholarship.

Jain is a member of the Hillsborough High School Varsity Boys Soccer team and has been recognized as an All-Conference First Team player and Hillsborough High School Boys Soccer Most Valuable Player.
He ranks within the top 5 percent of his graduating class and is a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, Spanish Honor Society, Neulock Consulting and is an online volunteer tutor for underprivileged students with Learn to Be.
