2 Hour Delay For All Hillsborough Schools On Friday Due To Snowy Forecast
A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Somerset County through Friday afternoon.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — All Hillsborough Township Public Schools will have a two-hour delayed opening schedule on Friday due to the weather conditions, said the district on Thursday night.
"Please expect buses to pick your child up 2 hours later than normal," said the district.
Lunches will be served. Afternoon kindergarten and afternoon preschool classes will begin 1 hour later than normal. To view school-specific opening times click here.

If conditions require closing school, parents will be notified by 7:30 a.m. on Friday.

"Local power outages and tree damage are possible due to the ice. Travel could become very difficult," the National Weather Service said. "The hazardous conditions are expected to impact the Friday morning commute." Read More: Weather Advisories Issued In 12 NJ Counties Ahead Of Storm
Sleet and freezing rain north of Interstate 78 will transition to rain by Friday morning, according to a National Weather Service update Thursday morning. All precipitation is expected to taper off to the east by Friday afternoon.
While northern counties could see accumulations between 2 and 5 inches (and up to 6 inches in Sussex County), central Jersey communities will likely see accumulations of only up to an inch.
Ice accumulations could range between one- and two-tenths of an inch in the central part of the state. Essex, Bergen, Somerset, Morris, Hunterdon, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren counties could see up to a quarter-inch of ice.

Thursday Night: A slight chance of snow and sleet before 10 p.m., then sleet. Low around 30. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Total nighttime snow and sleet accumulation of around an inch possible.
Friday: Rain or freezing rain before 11am, then a chance of rain between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. High near 42. East wind 5 to 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 19. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 34. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 22. West wind around 5 mph.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 44.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 19.
