2 Raccoons Test Positive For Rabies In Somerset County
The most recent rabid raccoon was discovered on Wednesday.
MONTGOMERY, NJ — Two rabid raccoons have been found in the Skillman section of Montgomery. The most recent tested positive on Wednesday.
One raccoon tested positive on April 8 in the area of Lake View Drive off of Mountain View Road in Skillman, said Montgomery Township Police.
A second raccoon tested positive for rabies on April 13 in the area off of Great Road and Bedens Brook Road in Skillman, said police.

Police offer some reminders to residents:
- Do not to interact with, handle, or feed wildlife
- Vaccinate your pets against rabies.
- If you come across a sick or injured animal, keep your distance and promptly report it to the Animal Control Officer at 908-359-8211 ext. 2247. If after hours call Police non-emergency 908-359-3222.
