2-Year-Old Boy Hit, Killed By Truck Leaving Home In Somerset
A 60-year-old Somerset man was backing out of his driveway in a pick-up truck when he hit and killed a toddler on Saturday morning.
FRANKLIN, NJ — A 60-year-old Somerset man was backing out of his driveway in a pick-up truck when he hit and killed a toddler on Saturday morning, authorities said.
A 911 caller reported the tragic crash saying a two-year-old boy was hit at a home on Bennetts Lane on Saturday at 8:46 a.m., according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.
Franklin Township Police Officers and EMS tried measures to save the boy before he was taken to a local area trauma center but the boy later died from his injuries.

The Franklin Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau and Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team are conducting an investigation into the factors that contributed to this incident.
