$285K Worth Of Police Cars Purchased By Hillsborough

The police will purchase 4 SUVs to replace four aging patrol vehicles, according to the resolution.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The Hillsborough Mayor and Committee recently approved roughly $285,000 worth of purchases for new SUVs for the township police.

A resolution was unanimously approved by the committee during the Sept. 27 meeting to

approve the purchase of four Ford Patrol Interceptor SUVs from Winner Ford at a
total cost not to exceed $234,988.

The purchase is being done "in order to maximize the effectiveness of the Patrol Division for the protection of the community," according to the resolution.

The sport utility vehicles will be used to replace four aging patrol vehicles and those aging
administrative vehicles will be turned over to the Director of Public Works or placed on auction by the Township, according to the resolution.
