3 People Evacuated From Montgomery House Fire

Montgomery Police found a vehicle parked inside the attached garage that was fully engulfed in flames.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — Three people were evacuated from a Reid Avenue home in the Pike Run Development following a garage fire last week, Montgomery Police report.

On Jan. 3 at 7:29 p.m., a resident called 911 and reported smoke inside the house. On arrival police found a vehicle parked inside the attached garage that was fully engulfed in flames, police reported.

The fire spread to a second vehicle in the garage and went into the residence, police reported.

Three residents that were home at the time were able to evacuate the house and did not report any injuries.

Montgomery Fire Company 1 & 2 responded and were assisted by Hillsborough Fire Companies, Rocky Hill Fire Company, Millstone Fire Company, Flagtown Fire Company, East Amwell Fire Company, Griggstown Fire Company, Manville Fire Company, Montgomery EMS and Montgomery Road Department.

Reid Avenue and portions of Pike Run Road were closed during the fire response. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Montgomery Fire Inspector Bureau.

On Jan. 4 at 7:21 p.m.: Montgomery Police responded to Route 206 in front of the Harlingen Village Shopping Center for a motor vehicle crash. During the police investigation it was determined that Vedia Bock, 50, of Belle Mead was traveling north on Route 206 when she crossed over the center lines and impacted the plow attached to a Ford F350 operated by Matthew Della-Ventura, 30, of Hillsborough. Della-Ventura was attempting to turn left from the Harlingen Village at the time. There were no injuries reported and Bock’s vehicle was towed as a result of the crash. Bock was issued a summons for failure to maintain a lane and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Municipal Court.
