3 Severely Hurt, 1 Airlifted In 3-Car Crash In Somerset County

Finderne Avenue has since reopened in Bridgewater going into Manville on Friday.

MANVILLE, NJ — One person was airlifted to a hospital and two others were severely injured following a three-car crash in Manville on Friday.

As a result, Finderne Avenue coming from Bridgewater into Manville was closed. It reopened around 5:15 p.m.

At 1:27 p.m. on Aug. 25, a Mercedes, Honda Pilot and a Chevy Traverse crashed at the intersection of N Main Street and Dukes Parkway E near the McDonald's in Manville, said Manville Police Lt. John Crater.

Manville Fire Department along with Finderne Fire Department came to help extricate the drivers trapped in their vehicles. The three drivers were the only people inside their vehicles at the time of the crash, Crater said.

All three of the drivers were severely injured. One driver was airlifted by a North Star helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital(RWJUH) New Brunswick. The other two were taken to RWJUH Somerset.

The Somerset County County Accident Response Team(CART) is investigating the crash.
