3 Teens Lucky To Be Alive After Car Crashes Into Tree, Overturns In Somerset County
The crash occurred on Sunday afternoon on Montgomery Road.
MONTGOMERY, NJ — Three teenagers were lucky enough to walk away from a crash after the car they were in crashed into trees and overturned on Sunday, Montgomery Police said.
At 2:22 p.m. Montgomery first responders went to Montgomery Road in the area of the 1860 House where they saw three teens had freed themselves from the vehicle, said police.
A crash investigation found that the vehicle sped eastbound on Montgomery Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle crossed the centerline, drove onto the grass, hit an embankment then crashed head-on with trees causing the vehicle to overturn, said police.

The 17-year-old driver had minor injuries and the 18-year-old front-seat passenger had lacerations to the head and both arms. Both were taken to Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick Hospital.
An 18-year-old back seat passenger was evaluated by Montgomery EMS and refused further medical attention.

The driver was issued motor vehicle summons for reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane, unsafe operation of a vehicle, violation of provisional license with too many passengers in the vehicle, and provisional violation for not having a provisional decal on the vehicle.
