3 Women, Hillsborough Local Start Petition To Recall Phil Murphy

The women have 320 days to get just over 1.4 million signatures in order to recall Governor Murphy. Do you think he should be recalled?

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough local Terry Beck is among three women who believe Governor Phil Murphy is doing a bad job in office. So bad that they have started a petition to recall Murphy.

Beck considers herself “very persistent” and when she believes in something she goes after it. As a strong President Donald Trump supporter Beck got in touch with Hackensack local Patty Hoch and Paterson local Monica Brinson (who also formerly ran for governor in 2011 and will be running for Lt. Governor in 2021) to make a change in the Garden State.

The three filed a notice of intention with a state recall election official on Friday, Jan. 11. The state election official has three business days to review the request to ensure it meets compliance with the state's provisions and then return an answer to the filer, according to the New Jersey Division of Elections NJ Statutes Annotated (NJSA) Title 19, Chapter 19:27A.

If accepted, the women will have 320 days to get 25 percent of registered voters or just over 1.4 million signatures in order to recall Murphy.

If they get the signatures, the petition will be sent back to the state to verify that all of the signatures are from legal New Jersey taxpaying citizens before anything could happen, according to NJ Division of Elections.

Governor Murphy would then have 10 business days to challenge the petition by filing an action in the Superior Court to look at the validity of the signatures. If at that point the signatures are upheld, a recall election will be held, according to NJ Division of Elections.

The petition was started due to the women’s concerns over the Governor’s actions this past year since being elected, specifically immigration was a big concern.

“New Jersey struggles to live and as a taxpayer we are following the procedure. We work and then try to cover our bases financially,” Beck said. “But then you hear you have to pick up the tab for illegals so that they can come in. It’s like let’s welcome the criminals and get slapped on the hand as they come in.”

Beck’s main concerns with Murphy are the illegal immigration issue. She noted that she is a member of the American Motorcyclist Association of New Jersey and has seen what the gang MS-13 can do. She says she has even turned in MS-13 members who were staying at the former Bound Brook Hotel to authorities. Those members were also illegal immigrants, she noted.

She claims that Murphy would help legalize the “criminals” which would “allow them to rape and kill us” and leave the authorities “disarmed” and unable to do anything about it.

Beck also pointed to rising taxes in the state and how Murphy plans to continue to add to this trend.

“His goal is very selfish and ignorant,” Beck said. “He is trying to raise money and hide it. He is claiming taxes have to go up, but they don’t have to.”

Beck added that Murphy has a “diseased, demented mindset” and that she is worried about the future of the state. She noted how many businesses and residents are leaving New Jersey.

“I am very good friends with President Trump and the police. And I am real close to saying to Trump that New Jersey has been a problem. We always have a deficit. New Jersey is the most problematic in the United States. Trump should dissolve New Jersey’s state government and let it be absorbed by neighboring areas.”

Phil Stilton, who owns Shore News Network and personally runs the Facebook page Stop Phil Murphy — which he noted is not connected to his media outlet — has also showed interest in helping the women with the petition.

“We are not helping out with petition per se, I just offered her media coverage,” Stilton said. “I am not involved in it. I am not collecting signatures or getting involved in it that way. Just offering any promotion to get their word out.”

Stilton said he was thinking of doing his own recall of Murphy, but “it would take too much effort. But if someone did their own recall effort I would give them free marketing or whatever they want from us.”

Beck is currently waiting for the petition to be reviewed by the state and sent back. She is hoping to get the go ahead this week for locals to start signing it.

Beck also posts publicly on her Facebook page Terry Beck (Topless Terry) for locals to follow the petition process. Beck and the other women are also working on setting up a PO Box as well.

Beck is also asking for any volunteers who want to help out with the petition campaign to email her at talkingterry@comcast.net.
