Somerset County Residents Face Up To 4 Hour Long Wait For COVID Tests
Due to the demand, Somerset County added clinics in Franklin on Thursday open until 7 p.m. and more next week in Hillsborough.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — The demand for COVID-19 tests is high as positive coronavirus cases continue to break records in New Jersey.
On Thursday in Somerset County, lines have wait times as much as 3 to 4 hours. The Somerset County Department of Health is working as fast as they can to get to as many residents as possible.
Currently, the COVID testing clinic in Hillsborough is processing about 100 people per hour.

Due to the demand, Somerset County added another test clinic at Franklin Middle School, 415 Francis St., Somerset from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30.
The county also added upcoming clinics on Tuesday, Jan. 4 and Thursday, Jan. 6, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Emergency Services Training Academy, 402 Roycefield Rd, Hillsborough. Both Rapid test and PCR tests will be available. Walk-ins are welcome, insurance is requested. Participants can expect results in 48 hours. For directions to the clinic click here.

At a previous clinic held in Hillsborough on Tuesday, Dec. 28, the county tested 910 residents by 1:30 p.m.
For those that don't want to wait, there are dozens of private testing providers in the County that can be found on the state's website at covid19.nj.gov/pages/testing.
The New Jersey Department of Health also recently began offering free, at-home COVID-19 saliva test kits. UPS will ship the kit with next-day delivery, and a health care professional will virtually walk patients through the tests and answer questions. Find more info here.
On Thursday, New Jersey reported another record-breaking day with 27,975 positive cases and 34 deaths. Somerset County reported 963 cases and 0 deaths.
