4 Police Officers Hired, 2 Promoted In Hillsborough

The Township Committee approved a resolution to hire four officers and promote two officers at the Feb. 10 meeting.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Four new police officers will be joining the Hillsborough Township Police force, and two current officers will be promoted.

The Township Committee approved the promotions and hirings at the Tuesday night meeting.

"This is a great opportunity for Hillsborough Township to keep this an incredibly safe town and just to make it a great place for everyone to live. Thanks for doing what you do, police," said Committeeman Robert Britting on Tuesday.

Sergeant Philip Wolff was promoted to Lieutenant effective Feb. 10, at an annual salary of $186,296 and Corporal James Sakers was promoted to Sergeant effective Feb. 10, 2026, at an annual salary of $154,599.

Additionally, the Committee approved four new hires effective Feb. 17, with annual salaries:

  • Ryan P. Enright - $52,983
  • Thomas R. Flaherty - $52,983
  • Brett D. Radomski - $52,983
  • Aidan J. Schweizer - $52,983

With the new hires, the police department now has 69 officers in the department.

Ciccarelli previously said in October 2025 that the Township Committee has authorized up to 70 hires in total.
