5K Race/Walk To Benefit Down Syndrome Community

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — HRC Fitness in Hillsborough is hosting its third Annual Charity 5k Run and 1 Mile Walk on Sunday, Oct. 2 to benefit GiGi’s Playhouse-Hillsborough, Down Syndrome Achievement Center in Central NJ.

The race will be held at HRC Fitness at 30 Brower Lane in Hillsborough.

"GiGi’s Playhouse is a one-of-a-kind achievement center for individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the community. GiGi’s Playhouse offers more than 25 therapeutic and educational programs that advance literacy, math skills, motor skills and more; all of which are free of charge," according to RunSignUp.

Schedule:

• 8:00-8:45am - Final Registration and Packet Pickup (note: new registrants should report to HRC Fitness lobby to register and pick up their race materials; all registrants should affix their bib to the front of their shirt with the safety pins provided and report directly to the Starting Line).
• 9:00am - 5K begins
• 9:15am - Walk begins
• 9:45am - Race Awards and Refreshments
• 11:00am - Dash for Down Syndrome Check in
• 11:15am - Dash for Down Syndrome begins

Race fee is $30 for pre-registration and $35 for day of race. Race will be held rain or shine.

The Kid’s Clubhouse at HRC Fitness will offer babysitting during the race from 8 to 10 a.m. Advance sign up for babysitting is encouraged. Fee is $5 per hour, per child: SIGN UP

After the event there will be refreshments served including fruit, bagels, and other snacks compliments of Wegmans and Starbucks.

5K Awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall winners (Male and Female). In addition, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the following age categories for both Male and Female: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-up will receive prizes.

Embroidered Fleece Blankets are available to order for $17.

There will also be a raffle, DJ and photographs.
