7 New Police Officers Hired In Hillsborough

The new officers were sworn into office on Wednesday when they began serving the township.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Seven new police officers have been sworn in to serve Hillsborough Township.

The Township Committee accepted the recommendation of Chief of Police Mike McMahon to hire the seven officers at the Jan. 10 meeting.

"There are vacancies within the Police Department and after a thorough search and interview process, the top candidates are being hired to fill those vacancies. We support our men and women in blue and are thankful to our Police Department for keeping Hillsborough a safe and desirable community to live, raise a family, operate a business and pursue an occupation," stated Mayor Shawn Lipani.

The seven candidates who were sworn in on Jan. 18, along with their salaries, are:

  • Allison Ricci - $68,589
  • William Morsch - $54,954
  • Joseph Randazzo - $61,774
  • Brady Clark - $54,954
  • Edward Palmadessa - $61,774
  • Vail Nazaryk - $54,954
  • Edward Rilho - $54,954

Officer Clark was previously a Class II Officer with the Ocean City Police Department. Officer Morsch was previously a Class II Officer with the Seaside Heights Police Department.

Officer Nazaryk graduated from the Cape May County Police Academy on Jan. 13. Officer Palmadessa was previously a Sheriff’s Officer with the Union County Sheriff's Office.

Officer Randazzo was previously a Police Officer with the Palmyra Police Department. Officer Ricci was previously a Police Officer with the Robbinsville Police Department.

Officer Rilho was previously a Class II Officer with the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department.

"Congratulations and welcome to these candidates on their completion of the rigorous interviewing process. Our Department looks forward to having them join our ranks,"
said McMahon.

Their first day with the Department was Wednesday.
