71-Year-Old Belle Mead Man Critically Injured After Rt. 18 Crash

The man was driving on Route 18 in Old Bridge on Friday when an SUV crashed into him.

BELLE MEAD, NJ — A 71-year-old Belle Mead man is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a crash on Route 18 in Old Bridge on Friday morning.

At around 10:15 a.m. a 2006 Hyundai SUV was driving south in the left lane on Route 18 when it hit a work zone traffic safety vehicle causing it to go into the right lane and hit a 2014 BMW driving in the right lane, Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Christopher L.C. Kuberiet and Chief William Volkert of the Old Bridge Police Department said.

The driver of the BMW from Belle Mead was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for life-threatening injuries.
